Marydel AmbeOutreach Coordinator
Marydel Ambe is a Community Outreach Coordinator at Lucania Partners, working closely with Fund Love. She is an expert in leading and facilitating the development of the Fund Love community by overseeing the planning and implementation of outreach strategies. She has led Fund Love’s inaugural campaign, ‘I AM MORE THAN CANCER’ by building and maintaining relationships with partners and community members, curating member stories, and increasing engagement while managing the campaign’s social media accounts and website. She coordinates Fund Love’s involvement in events, including Columbia’s Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Velocity Ride to End Cancer. Having been affected by cancer personally, her goal is to provide support to under-resourced groups and individuals.
Michael A. Berman, MDExecutive Advisor
Michael A. Berman Executive Advisor, has over 40 years of experience as a leader who enables growth and change in complex settings. He works across all facets of strategy and execution, and leads Lucania’s high performing executive coaching practice. Mike’s advisory experience includes serving as a Board Director at Cadence Pharmaceuticals, consulting with the Dean of the Yale School of Medicine, and serving as an interim CEO of the Yale Medical Group. Prior to his advisory work, Mike served as the EVP & Hospital Director of NewYork-Presbyterian and led the integration efforts enabling the merger of Columbia-Presbyterian and New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, resulting in significant growth and improvements in clinical value. In his early career, Mike invented the Berman Balloon Angiographic Catheter, the standard catheter for infant’s and children’s heart catheterizations worldwide.
Robert A. RosenEVP and General Counsel
Robert A. Rosen is the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Lucania Partners, specializing in corporate governance, risk management, and legal and regulatory matters. Robert has more than 25 years of experience advising both complex multinational companies and emerging healthcare organizations. He has extensive practical and technical experience in post-merger integration, board management, corporate best practices, and board effectiveness. Robert has a track record of success in helping clients across multiple industries develop and execute strategic plans, “cross-border” acquisitions and joint ventures, and new market expansions. Rob has also recently advised on matters of strategic communication, project management and workforce development for a $5B academic health system.
Heather RotellaProject Director
Heather Rotella serves as a Subject Matter Expert with Fund Love and its consulting affiliate, Lucania Partners. Her strategic focus on programs and policies that address prevention and health inequities works to advance the health and well-being of the community. Prior to joining Fund Love, Heather has successfully lead projects impacting the at-risk and underserved communities, leading to increased health outcomes. In addition, she currently serves as a Health Promotion Specialist for Penn Medicine, a world-renowned, not-for-profit academic medical center and nationally recognized community health care system.
Michael J. ZaccagninoFounder and President
Michael J. Zaccagnino is the Founder and President of Lucania. He has nearly 30 years of experience as a trusted advisor, strategist, and change implementation specialist, and proven expertise in strategy development, financial planning, and strategic partnering for providers, non-profits, and start-ups. Mike enjoys helping leaders develop and execute growth and market expansion strategies, with particular emphasis on improving the health and well-being of the communities that they serve. He serves as the lead board director of Fund Love. Recently, he advised the Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Financial Officer, EVP and COO, Chief of Staff to the EVP/COO, and President of a $5B academic health system on a variety of matters, ranging from acquisition and integration planning, to clinical service line development.
